It's just genre fiction...
It has no coming out story...
No family abuse...
It has superheroes for crying out loud...
It's Supervillainz! And you've never read a book like this before.
Supervillainz is a madcap adventure story of a Scooby gang of queer twenty-somethings pitted against a gang of superheroes who believe one of the kids is responsible for their brother's death. Chasing the kids across Boston, the gang embraces their new-found role as villains in order to survive. It all leads to the ultimate showdown which, unlike many books, is guaranteed to knock your socks off.
This is an example of activist fiction, intelligently subverting all the traditional tropes traditionally expected in such literature. No GLBT people die, no one comes out to anyone, or has to deal with acceptance from their relatives. This is the book you'll really be reading inside your textbook in class. You're going to love it.
This is how the next wave of literature is done.
Never let them see you coming...
Speak your story in their language...
These are the tools.
But the result is something all its own.
If it's never been done before, you don't expect it.

Cast of Supervillainz
Sweet, shy hyper-organized 24 year old woman on hormones, though a raging tigress when provoked. Never lets her lack of talent keep her from doing anything she sets her mind to. Lives with Markie over a great-smelling Thai restaurant they both can't afford.
Passionate about video games and extra cheese and sausage pizza from The Big Tomato Pizzeria, only when the owner is working the bench.
Would rather not deal with fans of Elton John, Led Zeppelin and Iggy Pop. Music has come too far since then.
Quote: It flashes. Can I borrow ten dollars?
They call him an excitable boy, though he's really a man and on hormones. Loves geek culture but his heart is in the bar rooms. Work-aholic for a non-profit. Acquires and purges used televisions as his conscience dictates. Passionate about looking good. He's a legend in his own mind.
Would rather not deal with most of his life, up to six months ago.
Quote: I know you have money! And you know you want to give it to me. And you know I'm going to blow it at the club this weekend.
Mack mistress of the dyke community. Soul-searching casanova who could ride any gender wave she chooses better than most, but she's a girl and she's got the strap-on to prove it. Corporate office worker when no one is looking. Due to thin walls, Bit gets to hear all her exploits in gory detail.
Passionate about the girl in her bedroom every weekend night.
Would rather not deal with the girl in her bedroom every weekend morning.
Quote: I could kill every grandparent I have if I told them what I did for fun this week. Do you know what kind of responsibility that is?
Hyper-artistic boi of size who dreams of every mall in America carrying one of her novelty creations, if only she had the patience to actually finish one. And sorry, ladies, she's taken.
Passionate about the next exam, the next big project, and the next American Idol.
Would rather not deal with the fact that she's going to have to graduate from art school someday.
Quote: They still won't let me write on the bus' windows.
Cast of Superheroez
The brains. Grew up with a strong love for mechanics, honor and order. He's fulfilled by doing a cop's duty when they aren't available to do it.
Passionate about Asimov, Heinlein, and the first two Star Wars movies, unedited.
Would rather not deal with weird folks he can't date without therapy.
Quote: You've got to stop taping CSI for me, Mel. I've never going to catch up with what you have already as long as I keep going out nights.
The heart. Spiritual, respectful, and wants peace in the world. Votes Republican. Thinks the Wolf may just have something with this superhero gig.
Passionate about strong cosmopolitan women who understand him.
Would rather not deal with Rush Limbaugh and other conservative freaks. Lame, old, been done and unproductive.
Quote: Sorry, I don't sing without a hundred voices around to drown me out.
The nerve. Skiddish, directionless, confused until the right opportunity presents itself. Then he's the best man for the job. If only someone had let him be a superhero sooner.
Passionate about getting approval from others. And the Lakers.
Would rather not deal with himself, most days.
Quote: Yee-ah, boy-ee. I mean, that was great.
The real brains. Underappreciated, overworked and self-destructive, if it wasn't for her boyfriend. Has a picture in her nightstand drawer from when she was five reminding her that when she grew up, she wanted to be a duck.
Passionate about Harry Potter books and their knock offs.
Would rather not deal with everything and everyone, until she can retire on a cruise ship somewhere.
Quote: Coffee. Where is it? Now. Wait, that's not my mug.
